My dear friends,
On this lovely Spring day, I welcome you to One Little Note – my sweetest passion project yet!
In this space, I will share journal entries, lifestyle and wellness posts, favorite finds, reads and places I love near and far. We will start conversations about motherhood, resilience and hope… sharing our personal journeys and mini daily sources of joy. Most importantly we will be kind. We will use kind words, as there is great transformative power in them.

I think back to my first published (very mini) article in my high school paper, words on print (at the time) provided a sense of being heard. After that, I was hooked. I moved on to writer, then editor of the school magazine, poetry book, etc. I have been writing since. Over decades, my love affair with words has never wavered. I believe you first fall in love with reading and the words of other writers and then you start to develop a voice of your own. In college, my voice emerged as young poet with a taste for simplicity and sensuality (influenced by the works of Theodore Roethke, Donald Justice and Anais Nin). These days, I loose myself in the work of Anne Carson and Keats, (completely challenging as a non-formal scholar), but effort and interest take the lead. I learned in college that to love and understand the power of words and have them impact your world is a personal, life long decision.
Another lesson from one of the most significant people in the story of my writing life (my college poetry professor) was to not wait for inspiration. I remember mentioning to him that I could not complete a poem because I was ‘not inspired’. He kindly said, ‘Inspiration is incoming air‘, meaning that I needed to do the assignment but also that writing is work (the actual physical act); An art that must be crafted, revisited, examined, and examined once again. The ‘inspiration’ part comes or not.
Looking forward to the act of writing for those of you who will be visiting me on this page… and for the moments of intense ‘inspiration’ and connections, the greatest reward.
